Horsham Computer Upgrades
Upgrading your computer is a cost effective and convenient way of getting extra performance or storage space.
There are many different options, so you may just wish to call us and discuss your exact requirements. However, here are a few of the more common upgrades you might want to consider:
RAM (Random Access Memory)
Not to be confused with Hard Drive space! Your RAM is like "short-term" memory for your computer. It has a fast response time, so when you open a program, it loads it in to RAM in order for it to be instantly available to respond to your commands. If you don't have enough RAM, your computer will create "virtual memory" on your Hard Drive - about 100 times slower, resulting in poor response times, systems "hangs" or pauses and a very frustrated operator! If this sounds familiar, a RAM upgrade could be the best option for you.
Hard Drive
If you have lots of digital photos or a large music library, you may find your hard drive space disappearing fast. An External USB Hard Drive could be the answer, but not everyone wants to clutter up their desk with more gadgets! We can help you upgrade your existing internal hard drive - we can image it to a brand new one, so there is no need to rebuild your Operating System. Alternatively, if you have a desktop PC, there may be space to install a "slave" hard drive along-side your existing one. Call us to discuss your exact requirements.
Operating System
If you bought a new PC between 2007 - 2009, chances are your computer is running Microsoft Windows Vista. This has now been superseded by Microsoft Windows 7. It is a far superior operating system and you will get a massive performance increase, just by upgrading. Contact us today for a quote!
